Hi,

I'm a new user. still exploring/discovering the funcionality of UAPP - installed on a new Hiby R4. Not having many problems except this issue I appear to have with EQ. I have saved a Custom EQ (named) with my preferred settings. However, once the R4 has been asleep and I awaken it to play music via UAPP, the EQ has defaulted to the Standard EQ setting. I need to reselect my Custom preset every time. I've looked everywhere to try and find how I can make my Custom EQ the Default setting - no luck! Probably something simple I've missed, but would appreciate any guidance.
This is the test we did:

* start the app
* press the volume/EQ button
* enable EQ
* enter EQ
* change the EQ sliders evidently
* save as a preset, although this doesn't matter since the app won't recall presets by name, it will restore the last used settings
* press the back button or arrow (this is important since this is when the settings are actually saved)
* exit the app by the back button
* re-enter the app
* press play
-> the audio is clearly affected
* press volume/EQ, EQ, the EQ settings are as they were set

Please let us know if you are doing anything different.

Hi and Thank You. That advice has clarified things for me. Another couple of questions, if I may?

1/ I have numerous Playlists made up of FLAC files. They all play without fault, but I notice ALL playback is 44.1khz. I have tried various settings, including MQA, but this doesn't change - should it? What else should I be doing?
2/ When playing music I listen through IEM's and I've notice two icons. One clealr y showing Playback via Earphones and another with small figures and an up/down arrow which frequently fluctuates. Can you advise what this icon is?

Again. your advice is much appreciated (from a newbie!)

Also, it may be helpful just to have a list of "best settings" for FLAC playback via a portable Hi-Res Player (Hiby R4 in my case)? Just a thought :-)
1) if they are all 44.1kHz, then it should play at 44.1kHz. It is unlikely they are MQA tracks, so enabling/purchasing the MQA decoder wouldn't have any effect on them
2) I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean with those, perhaps you can post a screenshot?

The app's defaults are already the best settings for most cases. Only if you want bit-perfect audio (so no processing like EQ at all) you can enable bit-perfect.
