Speaker Sim models? - NelsNose - 08-04-2015

I have been experimenting a little with the SpeakerSim trial, but want to know more about what each model is intended to reproduce/do.

The options I see are 0 - 5, but I don't know if Model 1 is supposed to be a twin-reverb or a marshall stack.

Can someone provide a little more info about this plugin?

They are very very basic speaker models, so I wouldn't want to put names on it.

I can appreciate that, but is there any additional information about them?
For instance, is the concept for one a 2X12 open-back, another a 4x12 closed-back.

In the end, I guess it's up to the ears.

It's best to use your ears indeed. It would be far better to use an iRig UA in combination with AEM. Unfortunately, building realistic amp/speaker sims requires a lot of expertise and time which we simply just not have (yes, we are being honest here!). Another unfortunate thing is that these amp/speaker sims usually cost quite a lot on desktop systems and doing collaborations with these vendors have proven hard since the profit is so much lower in the app world.
