Feature Request: Multichannel via HDMI - smoothquark - 04-16-2024 Hi. After spending some time trialling the trial version of UAPP on my Nvidia Shield, I have bitten the bullet, paid and installed the TV version. There are some issues but I shall play with it a bit more before posting. Quality wise, I do think the playback on the NVidia Shield using UAPP to the USB interface of my Lyngdorf TDA-3400 sounds better than any of the streaming interfaces of the TDAI (Roon > uPNP > Tidal Connect), perhaps because I do have quite a few DSD files and even in blinded tests, I can tell the difference between DSD and FLAC 24/192! However, I am wondering if it is at all possible to allow playback via the HDMI interface for multichannel files. I currently use Emby via HDMI to my Denon AVR, but it'll be nice to avoid using two different apps. My .flac 5.1 files and .m4a with EAC3 play stereo only through UAPP to the DAC, so the files are playable (via FFMPEG?), so perhaps there could be an option in the settings to allow this playback via HDMI? I shall then have to switch inputs on the TDAI-3400 either manually or perhaps via UAPP itself (another feature request later). The £7 I have paid is very reasonable. Happy to pay more for extra features! A truly Android/Google TV compatible interface will be very much appreciated, but I do understand that this takes development time and may not be financially viable.
