noise reduction noise removal

On a related note, Dwrae; could you kindly expand on what causes artefacts and any mitigating measures available?
I have a modest Behringer Xenyx 302 interface which picks up crackles and clicks from my high quality independently
phantom powered mic. Now, recording in Recorder Pro has far less artefacts than AEM which probably points to a software issue as opposed to hardware. Obviously without means of live tracking and processing tools like precompression or metronome guidance, Recorder pro is not a viable live option.
Again, my Xenyx only supports a peak sampling rate of 48khz but if I use it, latency is shot, only way to keep everything in sync is to use 44.1. I've read the entire manual n checkd the lat correction YouTube.
Kindly address after  N7wwk's request above. Thnx

It depends on what kind of crackles you get. AEM is more cpu intensive than UARP, but at the same time, using more cpu time can actually sometimes cause less problems since the cpu doesn't get downclocked all the time.. I'd suggest enabling logging to file in both apps, make a short recording that reproduces it in both apps and send us the log files (USBAudioLog.txt and AudioEvolution/AELog.txt) and possibly the recordings to info@audio-evolution.com.
