Thank you for your advice. The same thing happened for files displaying Korean text, but changing the settings in Meta data encoding didn’t fix the problem.
I’ve since tested other files, and they display Japanese text correctly even with “Latin 1 / UTF8” encoding, so I think it must be a problem with the metadata in my files, or something to do with the way it’s been saved.
