UAPP depends on FFMPEG to decode such formats and we have no influence on this process. FFMPEG decodes and gives back a stereo PCM signal to play.

Thank you for answering. The problem was bypassed at an earlier stage by makemkv. makemkv did also extract the -hopefully original/exact- 24bit/192kHz stereo versions of the Animals album (1977 remaster /2018 remix).
