UAPP Won't Give Up Focus?

Hello.  I am a fairly new user, with an LG V40.  Even though I have all the correct boxes selected in the settings, neither my notifications nor Google Maps can take focus and quiet UAPP when they need to.  Is this a known bug, or am an idiot and there are further settings I need to make?

Ducking is not implemented. You can enable options in the app's settings to pause playback for some type of interruptions.
