There are several user interface elements that become inactive during various operating modes. It would be advantageous if such elements were graphically disabled, e.g. greyed out or hidden. (Each method may be appropriate ,depending on the scenario.)
Example: During playback, it is not possible to remove an in-line effects plugin but the red dustbin (trash can) button is displayed and reacts to user operation, i.e. the button changes state when pressed but has no action.
