LG G7 Fit Hi-Fi Quad DAC DSD support (ESS ES9218P)
#1
Hi,

I know that LG G7 Fit Quad-DAC is officialy supported by USB Audio Player Pro, but I can't make it to play .dsf files with DSD Native or DoP - they are converted to 24-bit/176kHz PCM at the output.
Is it possible to play .dsf files with DSD Native or DoP? According to ESS ES9218P datasheet, this DAC supports .dsf files up to DSD256.

Please help, as I have a lot of music in DSD :(

No, LG killed DoP support in Android 10.

OK, but G7 Fit has Android 9, with no updates to 10... Still nothing can be done? :(

DSD64 and DSD128 can be played on LG's running Android 9. DSD256 was never supported by LG.

Yes, I know I can play DSD64 and DSD128. But - please correct me if I'm wrong - the are not being played with DSD DoP... Please check the attached screen.

BTW, I was able to play DSD256 withy old LlG G5 and Hi-Fi  Plus module, but I suppose it was because of USB connection.

Ah, the 'Fit' variants do not support DoP.

Ok, so if I get LG G7/G8 or V30/V40 (they are on compatibility list) and I use Android 9, I will be able to play via DoP, won't I? ?

Ok, one last (I hope so) question: what about AOSP based ROMs for G7? If I install LOS, will the DoP still be unavailable for Android 10 or 11?
Thanks for your help!
