USB License not detected error

Today, I tried to use UAPP while walking my dog in the countryside and got a "USB license not detected error". Does anyone know what causes this? Does the app need an internet connection to authenticate a USB license before you can use it? 

Would also be nice if the error notification gave the user some idea of what to do next.

* I should add that I got this error while there was no USB device connected. I was hoping i could use the player with it set to android sound and then output via bluetooth when i don't have my DAC dongle to hand.

Normally, the app would be very verbose of why this happens and the possible solutions, so we are unsure why you didn't see anything at all. You can use the app offline after a successfull online validation 24 hours after first running the app.

How long can it be used offline for until it needs to be reauthorized? Got a major hurricane coming here and can't count on an internet connection for up to a couple weeks... would be a massive bummer if there will be no music
