Very low volume using built in mic

I am using version 5.3.3.4 on a Moto G Stylus 5g (2023).

When I try and record anything using the built-in mic, the volume is extremely low. How can I adjust this? I am just speaking into the mic saying, "Hello" and it barely registers. For comparison, if I user the build in android Recorder app, the volume is considerably louder.

I have used Audio Evolution on several Samsung and Motorola devices over the years and have not encountered this problem until using this particular device.

You have both mic preset and preferred audio input options. Perhaps you can experiment with the other option as well. If you use AudioTrack as audio system (as would the other app do), you probably get the auto-gain variant, but latency will be high.
