The time at which a track has to start playing is at index 01 NOT at index 00.
Normally the CD-ROM content is stored in the pre-gap of the initial track (index 00) until the beginning of the first title (index 01).
In these cases, if you start playback at index 00, you will only hear noise caused by the data. In the case of Mike Oldfield's CD The songs of distant earth this noise reaches 14 minutes
