I’m using the M23’s EQ to correct some issues with the Hifiman Arya Stealth. I did previously correct these within UAPP alone but I want to be able to use any app. So, I turned off UAPP EQ.
When playing a local 24/48 lossless copy of Lady Gaga’s “Replay” in UAPP (Bit Perfect Mode or MorphIt), it’s blowing past the volume levels somehow when it gets to the bassy chorus and it’s therefore distorted.
The issue doesn’t occur with direct TIDAL app playback of the same song at the same resolution with the device EQ on.
If I turn off the on-device EQ, UAPP plays it normally without the distortion.
The on-device EQ is boosting the sub and mid bass by 2.0dB to help the lacking bass. It’s lowering the low and mid treble by ~3.5dB to deal with the brightness.
What’s happening here?
