Android Auto - Scrolling Problem
#1
I am having a strange problem with Android Auto.  Within the last month or so, when using the vehicle's screen to scroll (swiping or using the arrows) through artists, albums, etc., the list moves and then jumps back to the top.  Further, if I try to use the alphabetical picker (press "A-Z" and then choose from the lettered tiles), the tiles are briefly displayed before the screen jumps back to the list.  If I exit the program on the phone which stops playback in the vehicle, and then launch the app, things work correctly.  Once I begin playback, the problems manifest again.  I also tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

I have not observed this behaviour with any other apps.  I am running Android 14.

As a sidenote, I also noticed the UI in Android Auto changed slightly: the album tiles displayed in views are larger than they used to be (e.g., Played Recently, Recently Added).  As far as I can remember, this coincides with the start of the scrolling behaviour I described.

Are there any settings I might check or is this a curious bug?

This is a bug in Android Auto since apps do not create or handle the user interface. Apps are 'only' a database for the UI that Android creates. However, UAPP is on Android media library 2, where version 3 is available, so our guess it that the problem doesn't occur for apps that feature media library 3 although it should be backwards compatible according to their own docs. We hope to be able to move to version 3 in the next weeks.

Ah, I suspected it would be something like this.  Many thanks for the quick reply.  I shall eagerly await the update.
