Volume settings for best sound quality

I am using an Android phone (Moto g) with UAPP into an Audioquest Dragonfly Red and just want to confirm I have the volume control set for optimum sound quality.

In settings I have selected 'hardware volume' and also 'bit perfect' I am then using the buttons on the side of the phone to adjust the volume.

Is this the optimal setting or should I be using 'softwear volume' and using the 'volume slider' within UAPP - both options appear to be 'bit perfect'
